With SilverFast scan software the effectively usable dynamic range of many scanners is more than doubled, based on ISO 21550.
SilverFast Multi-Exposure (patent pending), a feature of SilverFast SEPlus and Ai IT8 Studio versions, generates the highest possible image quality. SilverFast Multi-Exposure ensures a maximum image dynamic and significantly reduces image noise for the scanning of film material, e.g. slides. SilverFast Multi-Exposure reveals even the finest nuances in the shade and lights to still differentiate the blackest black tones and the brightest lights of the slide. Unlike conventional multi-sampling, SilverFast Multi-Exposure scans the original image with different exposures. That way, the effectively usable dynamic range of scanners is often more than doubled.
In addition, SilverFast Ai IT8 Studio ensures true and consistent colors. One single mouse click, nothing more is needed to automaticaly calibrate the scanner. The original LaserSoft Imaging IT8-target (reflective or transparent) is placed on the scanner and the IT8-calibration process can be started. A barcode imprinted on every original LaserSoft Imaging IT8-target (patented) ensures that the required reference data is identified and an ICC-Profile is created – fully automatic.
